Meet Our Sites!
Green Iowa AmeriCorps began serving Black Hawk and Linn counties with site offices in Cedar Falls and Cedar Rapids in January 2009. With an extremely successful first year, we opened two additional sites in Decorah (Winneshiek County) and Dubuque (Dubuque County). A new site in Des Moines (Polk County) followed in 2013. In 2016 we started a site in Iowa City! Our two newest sites started in 2018, are Milford and Davenport! With eight site locations, Green Iowa AmeriCorps' services reach thousands of households across Iowa!

Green Iowa AmeriCorps is happy to be hosted by the Winneshiek Energy District in Decorah. Now starting their eighth year at this site, members from both near and far have gathered with the interest of helping our community reduce energy usage through weatherization, education, and outreach activities. While maintaining the amount of home energy audits, our most successful events have been those in which we partnered with local businesses and organizations. These have included the following:
* Walking School Bus
* Various Film Series
* Discovery Camp classes for elementary students at Luther College
* After-school repurposed craft activities at Libraries in Decorah and the surrounding area
* Invasive species removal from the local parks
* Sustainable Kids activities
* Seed Savers exchange volunteering
* Meals on Wheels
* Butterfly Garden weeding
* Volunteering at the Recycling Center
