Along with the audit/weatherization process, Outreach and Education services help comprise an important part of how Green Iowa AmeriCorps' volunteer members engage and contribute to their local communities throughout each service term. Outreach activities include a wide variety of pursuits: volunteering time for local causes, to volunteering with Habitat for Humanity, to delivering presentations or hosting booths about their services at community events. Whatever the activity, Green Iowa members seek to support the community as well as integrate their services to the best of their ability.

 

Green Iowa AmeriCorps also seeks to stimulate an environmental consciousness and stewardship in communities by providing educational services free of cost and that are adaptable to any age group or audience.  We visit schools, community groups, conferences, or any other organized event.
